BEAM YogaŽ 200 hr. Yoga Teacher Training Program
BEAM YogaŽ is a RYS - Registered Yoga School, with the Yoga Alliance, fully in compliance with their guidelines for 200hr. certification. Linda Morse, director of the program and creator of BEAM YogaŽ, is an E-RYT 500, certified under the Yoga Alliance to professionally teach Yoga Teacher Training through the 500hr. level. Although rooted within the Kripalu yoga tradition, this program is centered as BEAM YogaŽ, which is Principles of Breath, Energy, Alignment, Movement.
The curriculum, under the guidelines of Yoga Alliance, covers techniques, teaching methodology, anatomy and physiology, philosophy, ethics, lifestyle, teaching practicum, and independent assignments. Specific area of attention is on asanas (postures), pranayamas (breath techniques), chakras and meditation. Students will learn the principles of demonstration, observation, assisting, correcting, instruction, various teaching styles, qualities of being a teacher, the student's process of learning, how to provide a safe environment, and being a guide for their student's personal journey.
You need not be positive that you want to actually teach yoga in your life's path. You may simply want to deeply enrich your understanding of the age old practice of yoga. In this program you will learn the skills to teach, to lead and guide your students, and the languaging to inspire them. 'We teach what we experience.' This deeply enriching program will immerse you through yoga practice, meditation and chakra work.
YTT offerings in 2011:
Weekend program - this meets for nine sessions on alternating weekends: FR 6:00-9:00pm; SA 8:00am-6:00pm; SU 8:00am-6:00pm.
Planned dates are:
Feb. 4, 5, 6 Feb. 18, 19, 20 March 4, 5, 6 March 18, 19, 20 April 1, 2, 3 April 15, 16, 17 April 29, 30, May 1 May 13, 14, 15 May 27, 28, 29.
Month long program - this meets every day for a month, with one day off in the middle. Hours are from 8:00am - 5:00pm, occasional evenings, and may be done residentially or commuting.
Planned dates are: October 2 - 30.
