Meditation - Have you wondered what meditation is really all about? Have you had concerns over what it is, or is not? Come to this very relaxed workshop and learn about the health and wellness benefits that can be gained from this age old practice of meditation. This program is appropriate for those with an established practice as well as those new to meditation. You will have the opportunity to learn several different kinds of ways to meditate, look at ways of integrating mindfulness into daily life, and leave feeling relaxed and renewed. Each weekend will offer different material. There will be the opportunity to journal and to creatively manifest your experiences. No prior experience is needed - please wear comfortable clothing.
BEAM YogaŽ Approach to the Practice of Yoga - The BEAM approach looks at the Principles of Breath, Energy, Alignment and Movement. This workshop is in a posture clinic setting and allows the student to learn the fundamentals of forward bends, back bends, lateral and spinal twists, etc., with variations and modifications to ramp up or mellow down your practice. You will explore the Principles which apply to all yoga postures to deepen your understanding of the practice of yoga. Students should have some yoga experience, but need not be advanced. These Principles are the basis for the BEAM YogaŽ Teacher Training program.
Chakra System - This workshop is a perfect way to begin exploring your energy or pranic body, enabling you to go deeper in your practice and take the wisdom of these fascinating seven energy centers into your everyday life. Every aspect of who you are - physically, emotionally, and mentally can be attributed to the balance or imbalance of your chakras. We will cover the basic characteristics and functions of each chakra and which yoga postures work to stimulate and balance each energy center. Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or disk. They are located along the spine from the sitz bones to the crown of the head in the subtle body or electromagnetic energy field. The Chakras are spinning energy vortices or wheels of consciousness which correspond to specific physiological parts of the body. There will be the opportunity to journal and to creatively manifest your experiences. Although Yoga experience is helpful, no prior experience is needed, nor any familiarity with the Chakras. Please wear comfortable clothing.
